📖 How to Use

  1. Pick a timer mode from the dropdown at the top: "🍅 Pomodoro (auto-cycle focus/break)" or "⏱️ Custom countdown".
  2. Pomodoro mode: set your "Focus time" (default 25 minutes) and "Break time" (default 5 minutes). Once started, it counts down the focus period, then automatically switches to break, then back to focus, cycling continuously — "Cycles completed" tracks how many focus sessions you've finished.
  3. Custom countdown: enter the minutes and seconds you want to count down from (default 10:00), then start it — it simply counts down to zero.
  4. Press ▶️ Start to begin. You can pause anytime with ⏸️ Pause, or return to the mode's starting time with 🔄 Reset. Switching timer modes resets the clock automatically.
  5. Reading the display: the large number in the middle is the time remaining (mm:ss), and the label above it shows the current phase (🎯 Focus time / ☕ Break time / ⏱️ Countdown / ⏰ Time's up!).
Note: a short beep (played via the browser) sounds whenever the countdown hits zero, and in Pomodoro mode the next phase starts automatically — no need to click Start again between focus and break. If you change the focus/break minutes mid-session, the new value only takes effect at the next phase switch; it won't interrupt the countdown already in progress. Keep the tab open while timing so you don't miss the beep.
